About Ankur

Ankur School began its journey in the late 1950s, rooted in the efforts of the spouses of Panjab University faculty, that formed the Students’ Aid Society to uplift the education of children. Their initiative started with small donations to support this noble cause. This vision led to the establishment of Ankur Nursery School, with its foundation stone laid by Smt Parkashwati Pathak, w/o Shri Gopal Swarup Pathak the then Vice President of India and Chancellor, Panjab University in 1973.The school building was completed in 1976 and inaugurated in March 1976 by Smt Sangamma Jatti w/o Shri B.D. Jatti the then Vice President of India and Chancellor, Panjab University.

Over the years, the school grew from a Nursery to a full-fledged institution, offering education up to the Senior Secondary level in the streams of Science, Commerce, and Humanities. The first batches of Class X and XII graduated in 2013 and 2019, respectively. Today, Ankur School stands as a symbol of commitment and excellence, dedicated to empowering students with quality education.

At Ankur School, our mission of holistic growth focuses on nurturing every aspect of a students’ development i.e intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth.

We strive to create a balanced environment where academic excellence is complemented with character building, creativity and life skills.
Through innovative teaching methods, inclusive practices, and co-curricular activities, we empower students to discover their strengths, embrace challenges, and grow into confident individuals.

Goals

The goals of Ankur School are:

To initiate or undertake any scheme for the overall welfare and development of the students.

To collect funds through donations, subscriptions, film shows in the university campus, dramas, and organizing fetes, etc., for providing financial aid, books, uniforms, and other support to needy students.

To foster a spirit of social service amongst the members, a number of welfare schemes and educational initiatives were introduced to ensure inclusive, holistic, and quality education in the school.
